The Young and the Restless spoilers (YR) reveal a new hit song isn’t quite a hit with everybody who hears it.
Wow, talk about fast! In 24 short hours, Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) stole Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) journal, and then took her former friend’s words to write a new song “How Could A Lie Feel So True?” and recorded it (oh the irony).
Devon (Bryton James) is desperate to keep his record label in the black, and his big risk with Tessa looks like it’s about to pay off! Now, thanks to Hilary (Mishael Morgan) cashing in on a favor Devon (Bryton James) owes her, Tessa will debut the song on The Hilary Hour.
Meanwhile, Mariah searches in desperation for said stolen journal. Has Hilary seen it? Um, what? Hilary points out that Mariah’s life is so boring, why would anybody care? Plus, why isn’t Mariah focusing on the upcoming show?
Surprise, Tessa will be on the show, and it’s Mariah’s job to find out more about the song. Things get awkward when Tessa literally has nothing to say about the song that just, um, came to her…

Right before showtime, Mariah notices her long-lost journal right under the chair Tessa formally occupied. Hmmm, that’s weird…
Finally, it’s time for the world debut, and after a brief delay, Tessa boldly jumps right into it and starts singing the catchy lyrics. Devon is gleeful knowing he has a hit on his hands. Everybody in the studio loves the song. Everybody that is, except for a stunned Mariah!
She stares in disbelief the longer the song goes on. And finally, she can’t take anymore. Just when things seem perfect, Mariah bursts out of her chair and runs over to Tessa her anger exploding on live TV!
She calls Tessa a thief and a few choice words and then wishes her former friend a trip straight to hell! Now what?
