The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, October 9 features Phyllis trying to extricate herself from a difficult situation, as Sharon does the same. Mariah gets a surprise at Tessa’s, and Jack goes back to his old ways.
Do What I Say!
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) ordered Sharon (Sharon Case) to find out what Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) has on JT’s (Thad Luckinbill) alleged murder. Sharon didn’t want to and tried to quit her job, instead.
She told Rey it’s because of the close moment they almost shared. Rey admitted that he feels something, too, but he is determined to make things work with his wife. Now that they’ve cleared the air, Sharon can stay at work, right?
OK, Sharon says…See ya…
Stay Away
Nikki and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) also descended on Phyllis’s (Gina Tognoni) office to touch base, but Phyllis is tried of touching base.
She told them she didn’t want to keep talking about JT and they shouldn’t keep pretending to be working on a charity together as people were getting suspicious. But Phyllis will keep her mouth shut. She’s not stupid.
Moving In
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) told Sharon she is moving in with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) – today! Sharon wished her the best.

Mariah brought her stuff to Tessa’s studio and tried to put her things in Tessa’s closet. She couldn’t because it’s full of bags. Which Mariah doesn’t realize are full of cash.
Moving On
Jack (Peter Bergman) chatted with Nate (Brooks Darnell) about Dina (Marla Adams) as viewers continued to wonder what purpose Olivia’s doctor son serves on the canvas.
Then, Kerry (Alice Hunter) arrived and Jack introduced the two. “Ah!” viewers go, “Now we get it! Unattached man, meet unattached lady. Now get to it.”
Jack, meanwhile, asked Kerry out himself. She said she’d think about it.
