The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, May 20 features Adam getting shot, as Arturo and Mia say good-bye to Genoa City, Jack demoting Kyle, Phyllis blaming Summer for her woes, and Victor ranting and lecturing.
Gut Punch
Sharon (Sharon Case) found a shot and bleeding Adam and rushed him to the hospital. Paul (Doug Davidson) questioned her, then found the bag of cash back at Adam’s place.
Victor (Eric Braeden) chastised Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) for not being adequately upset about their brother. Nick wondered if Billy (Jason Thompson) could have shot Adam while insisting he was with Christian at the time. The siblings and Billy sighed about how Adam’s return had made everything worse.
When Adam opened his eyes after surgery, he seemed to recognize Victor and called him “Dad.” Victor seemed thrilled.
Gone With the Wind
Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) and Arturo (Jason Canela) came to say goodbye to Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and Lola (Sasha Calle) as they headed back to Miami. Lola told Rey to be a bigger man, and he hugged Arturo. They both wished the other to be happy. What was the point of this story again?

Rey found time to tell Sharon he was getting a divorce, so he’s free to be with her now! It was a big day, Rey!
Same Blame Game
Summer (Hunter King) begged Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) to not make her life about getting back at the Abbotts. Phyllis blamed Summer for telling Jack (Peter Bergman) about her breaking into Summer’s computer, which was why Jack is starting an accessories line to compete with Phyllis.
At the same time, Jack demoted Kyle (Michael Mealor) in favor of Summer, telling Kyle it will give him more time to spend with Lola. Which was good, since Lola was feeling sad…and Kyle came running.
