Now that his marriage appears to be over — though it looks like the actual legalities may take a while — Devon is a free agent. Meanwhile, Mariah is footloose and fancy-free. So why not take their friendship to the next level? Here is what almost 9,000 viewers had to say!
Will It Be Mavon or Dariah?
There is absolutely no reason why these two young, hot people should not be together, assert 63% of you. Sure, Devon (Bryton James) is on the rebound from a bad marriage, and obviously still in love with his wife, if the night they signed their divorce papers is any indication. And Mariah suffers from perpetual insecurity and mistrust due to her upbringing, not to mention a tendency to hide her true feelings behind sarcasm and snark.
But what if Devon can smooth out some of those rough edges and restore Mariah’s faith? He is kind of ridiculously romantic. And what if Mariah (Camryn Grimes) can show Devon what it’s like to be with a woman who isn’t always scheming and clawing her way to the top? This could actually work….

Opposites Attract… Chaos
Then again, let’s take another look at that insecurity and bad judgment. Both Devon and Mariah had the rugs pulled out from under them when they learned that the people they thought were their families actually were not, and someone else was. Mariah got Sharon (Sharon Case) as a mom, Devon got Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) as a grandmother.
Those kinds of shocks lead to lifelong trust issues, and 35% of fans think neither will be able to overcome them enough to ever form a lasting relationship. Or maybe you just don’t want to see another interracial relationship. Genoa City does not have a good track record with those.
