It’s never a good sign when you find a person on the floor. It’s never a good sign when they’re out cold. Or surrounded by pills. This week on The Young and the Restless (YR), Chelsea hit the trifecta, finding Chloe on the floor, unconscious, and awash in pills. Also dead.
It all seems cut and dried, a guilty suicide, what else could it be?
But is it? Almost 20,000 viewers voted on what they think really happened to Chloe… and cut and dried doesn’t even begin to cover it!
It’s a Set Up!
The majority of you, 64%, don’t trust Dr. Harris about as far as you can throw him. You’re convinced this is a set up.
A full 55% of the 64% added that he must have forced Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to down all those pills so she could never tattle on him for either letting her out of the mental hospital before she was ready, or then keeping her away from the cops — on Victor’s orders.
F Is For Fake
Then again, let’s talk about Victor for a moment. He’s faked his own death in the past, and 29% of the audience don’t believe he’s above faking Chloe’s, too.
After all, making Chloe only look dead still achieves the same objectives as above, but allows Victor (Eric Braeden) to hold onto his good guy image (if only in his own mind). Besides, he did it for his family! The same reason he does anything else!
Faking a death isn’t as easy as soaps make it look, and 7% of fans prefer to believe their own — and Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) — eyes.
You accept that Chloe really is a goner. And 44% of that 7% are even willing to go as far as to assert that she did, in fact, commit suicide. Neither Dr. Harris nor Victor had anything to do with it!
