Once upon a time on The Young and the Restless (YR), Summer Newman had a crush on Kyle Abbott.
They were just two young Genoa City residents falling in love except for one thing… Their parents believed they were actually siblings.
Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis (then Michelle Stafford) had an affair while Phyllis and Jack (Peter Bergman) were still together, so Summer’s paternity was in question. It wasn’t very long after Cassie’s (Camryn Grimes) death, and Nick was struggling.

The paternity test revealed that Jack fathered Summer. But, of course, this is Genoa City, so Sharon (Sharon Case) actually switched them. However, in this heartbreaking clip, Nick doesn’t know that, and he finally admits to a horrified Summer that he’s not her biological father…
