Victor has been taking revenge against Nick’s betrayal on The Young and the Restless (YR) slowly but surely, but his latest move hits close to home.
In fact, it is his home, according to the August 21 issue of Soap Opera Digest. Victor (Eric Braeden) was just warming up when he cancelled Nick’s membership to the club and sabotaging his buying new locations to the club (which Nick doesn’t even know about yet).
This latest move is quite the power play to prove to Nick (Joshua Morrow) just how much he has relied on being a Newman — and what his betrayal is costing him.
Victor lets his ‘former’ son know that his days of living rent-free are now over, among other perks that come with the last name of Newman. But Nick makes a heart-tugging point to his ex-father.
“It’s the only home his children have known,” Morrow tells the magazine. “That’s not something Nick takes lightly… so this stings. It really stings.”

Nick was willing to take any hits his father wanted to dish out, but this one affects his children and that he wasn’t prepared for. And this of course increases the tension in their already broken relationship.
Victor does assure Nick that Noah (Robert Adamson) and Faith will always be welcomed at the ranch — after all, Sharon (Sharon Case) still lives there. But this doesn’t ease anything for Nick.
“This is the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back,” Morrow told Digest. “He’s like, ‘All right, there’s no going back from this. We’re not related.’ He even starts calling his dad ‘Victor.’ … I think it’s a big moment for Nick.”
Nick is truly on his own now, but it will be very interesting to see how the rest of the family reacts to Victor’s latest maneuver. Or does Victor feel that since he’s lost Nikki, he has nothing left to lose?
