The Young and the Restless fans fondly recall adorable Max Page from his days when he played a young Reed Hellstrom. Now, Page, a young man, is facing a big day today and his mom is asking for everyone to keep her son in their thoughts!

Max Page Health Update

“This guy…need some extra prayers for Max…time for another surgery to replace his pacemaker,” posted Page’s mother, Jennifer, on the Instagram page TeamPage4. According to the post, the surgery was set for 8 a.m. on December 22. Jennifer snapped a photo of her son before the procedure. “In true Max fashion – focusing forward and leaning on love. Max – I love being your mom…”

Born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect, Page has undergone other surgeries to treat his condition at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. His first was when he was merely three months old.

The teen has support from one of TV’s most popular stars. “I will be storming the heavens,” posted Chrissy Metz (Kate, This Is Us) in response to the Instagram post, which can be seen below.

Page became not only a household face to YR fans when he played the son of Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and JT (Thad Luckinbill), but he became an overnight sensation courtesy of a 2011 Super Bowl commercial in which he dressed up as a mini-Darth Vader. Page’s character thought he truly had the force with him when he appeared to use his abilities to turn a car alarm on. (In reality, the dad in the commercial activated it by remote.)

Page has served as Junior Ambassador for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He’s shared his personal experience with other patients and their families who are dealing with pediatric illness. “If you use your FORCE and dream big, you can achieve anything. We may be small but we are mighty,” Page has said according to the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles website.

“I don’t have a choice. I have to go through it,” Page has told his mom about past procedures. “I don’t like it and it’s still scary-but I have to. So I think I might as well go through it with a good attitude.”

It’s more common than not to age a child character on soaps and that’s what happened to Page after Tristan Lake Leabu took over the role of Reed. However, Page has continued to act post-YR. His more recent credits include roles in Hide Hide, Stranger Pilgrims, One Mississippi, Reluctant Nanny, and Secret Summer.

Soap Hub joins Page’s supporters in wishing him a successful surgery and a speedy recovery! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
