There’s been crossovers between The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless ever since Macy (Bobbie Eakes) said she’d gotten a bathing suit at Fenmore’s West back in 1991. That tradition continues with Courtney Hope taking her BB character, Sally Spectra, over to Genoa City. She debuts on November 3.
Courtney Hope Is Sally Once Again
Shortly after the actress exited the BB canvas news came that she’d be joining YR. Many wondered if she’d be creating a new persona or if she’d be bringing Sally over to the hour-long soap. Fortunately, for fans of La Spectra, it’s the former and the decision the show has made to go in this direction feels organic.
“We really enjoyed Courtney’s work on The Bold and the Beautiful,” said Josh Griffith, co-executive producer and head writer, The Young and the Restless. “Sally Spectra is a colorful character that fans love watching. We are excited for her to stir things up in Genoa City and join our talented cast.”

Sally pushed the envelope to re-win Wyatt’s (Darin Brooks) heart but she went too far in lying about having a fatal illness and kidnapping Wyatt’s girlfriend Flo (Katrina Bowden). Sally, realizing the error of her ways, agreed to leave town to give those she’d hurt some breathing space.
Everyone loves a redemption story. Sally’s a “have-not” in so many ways. So now, the stage has been set for her redemption. According to YR, Sally will hook up with Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), who has herself crossed back and forth between YR and BB, is involved in the fashion world courtesy of her fore-mentioned department store. Will Sally create a design a line for Fenmore’s?
It would be interesting to see if Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) popped up on YR to check on his ex-flame. Thomas knows something about needing redemption given the machinations he tried to orchestrate. Should Thomas step foot in Genoa City, maybe he will cross paths with Summer (Hunter King). As YR viewers may recall, Atkinson played Austin, Summer’s ill-fated, late husband. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
