The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, May 8, 2019, features Sharon catching Rey up on her past with Adam, Devon kissing Elena while dreaming of Hilary, Traci mining Cane’s story, and Mariah getting another threatening text – which makes Tessa fed up.
Past In the Present
Adam failed to show up for his meeting with Sharon (Sharon Case), but she thought she could sense his presence. Sharon filled Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) in on her past with Adam. She said he saved her when she tried to burn down Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) house.
He then had her go into therapy, where she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Later, Sharon thought she “felt” something in the hotel hallway, but no one was there.
Dreams Of Love
Devon (Bryton James) decided to stage a concert at Society and dedicate the space to Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) memory. Elena (Brytni Sarpy) told Devon how guilty she felt about not being there when her epileptic mother had a seizure and died.
Devon fell asleep and dreamt of Hilary (Mishael Morgan). In his dazed state, Devon confused Elena for his wife and kissed her. (Hey, isn’t this how Lily was conceived?)

The Maltese Abbott
Traci (Beth Maitland) started work on a new book, using Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khaliil) as inspiration – only in black and white, the 1940s, and as Sam Spade knock-offs.
Cane stopped by to thank Traci for being the only person who believed he could win his wife back. Traci assured Cane that even if that doesn’t happen, she knows he’ll be fine.
Texting Times
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) got another threatening text. Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) wrote back and wanted to know what Mariah did to piss this person off? There was no reply, so Tessa gushed about her great recording session as Mariah cheered on. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local schedule for air time.
