The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, August 1st centers on Hilary’s funeral, as everyone remembers the best about her, and Hilary leaves a letter for her friends and foes.

Plus, Billy lets Phyllis down again, Sharon worries that JT never got a funeral, and Shauna has had enough of being told what to do by Cane.

All Hail Hilary
Devon (Bryton James) is hostile towards Nate (Books Darnell), even as Neil (Kristoff St. John) reminds that Nate bought Hilary (Mishael Morgan) enough time to marry Devon.

Billy (Jason Thompson) stops by Hilary’s funeral, ostensibly to support Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), but then leaves early. Phyllis tells Jack (Peter Bergman) she’s afraid he’s gambling again.

First, everyone sings Hilary’s praises. Then Phyllis reads a letter Hilary wrote, giving everyone advice on how to live their lives – just like she used to do when she was still walking among them.

Sharon (Sharon Case) later laments to Phyllis that JT (Thad Luckinbill) never got a chance to be eulogized. Phyllis isn’t about to shed too many tears about it.

Enough Is Enough
Shauna (Camryn Hamm) eavesdrops as Lily (Christel Khalil) offers her condolences to Devon. Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) tells Cane (Daniel Goddard) how uncomfortable he is lying about Lily’s role in Hilary’s death – and pressuring Shauna to do the same.

Cane plays the “she’s your mommy” card. Interestingly though, he didn’t go with the whole, she carried you for nine months thing.

After the ceremony, Lily tries to reach out to Shauna, who is already crabby that Lily seems to be getting away with her crime. Shauna has had enough of what she believes are Lily’s crocodile tears, and (loudly) spits out how Hilary’s death was no accident – it’s all Lily’s fault! She’s the one who ran that red light!

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
