The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, August 16 features both Phyllis and Nick trying to talk their daughter out of spilling the beans about their one-night stand, not to mention trying to figure out why their little girl has suddenly changed so much.
Summer Mom
Summer (Hunter King) revealed what she knows about Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) sleeping with Nick (Joshua Morrow) and announced she’s off to tell Billy (Jason Thompson). Phyllis followed Summer to Billy’s office, where Gloria (Judith Chapman) announced that he’s out. Phyllis tried to find out why her daughter is acting so differently lately.
Summer said she’s decided to take control of her life – a life full of instability, thanks to Phyllis’s flitting from man to man. Phyllis accused Summer of wanting Billy for herself. She left Gloria to watch over Summer in exchange for a spa day.
Summer Dad
Phyllis filled Nick in, and he went to talk to Summer. He paid Gloria off to leave them alone in Billy’s office by promising her a spa day.
Nick tried to explain himself to Summer, and to remind her how unhappy Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will be if Summer blows up Nick’s upcoming wedding to Sharon (Sharon Case).

Realizing Summer won’t listen to him, Nick cut her a check. She’s surprised that Daddy is no longer coddling her.
Say Good-Bye
Lily (Christel Khalil) cried to Cane (Daniel Goddard) about possibly going to prison and being separated from Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Garry).
She explained the same thing to Devon (Bryton James), but he made it clear that he doesn’t give a damn, and nothing has changed since the last time they spoke. She then told her brother she’s missed him. Nope, he still doesn’t care.
