The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, July 8, 2020, features more of the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer reruns with an August 3, 2000 episode where Jill decides she needs reinforcements for butting into her son’s love life, Sharon faces renewed danger, and Christine doesn’t get what Michael sees in Phyllis!

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Jill’s (Jess Walton) oldest son, Phillip, mostly grew up off-camera, in boarding school. When he did come home, Jill decided that she preferred classy, cultured Christine (Lauralee Bell) whom Phillip loved, over Nina (Tricia Cast), the trashy schemer whom Phillip accidentally got pregnant. (Yes, this was while he was also allegedly hiding being gay, to the point where he had to escape via faking his own death).

Now that Jill’s younger son, Billy (David Tom), who mostly grew up off-camera with his dad, John (Jerry Douglas) has come home, Jill has decided that she prefers classy, cultured Brittany (Lauren Woodland) – pre-strip club days – whom Billy dating over homeless shelter reject Mac, who Jill doesn’t even think is really Kay’s (Jeanne Cooper) granddaughter. Jill asks Jack (Peter Bergman) for help with keeping his brother focused on the right girl.

Speak Of the Devil

Nick (Joshua Morrow) keeps bugging Sharon (Sharon Case) so much over how she’s doing following Matt’s attack, that repeating his name over and over causes Matt to reappear back in Genoa City! Nice going, dude!

Cricket Knows Best

Remember Christine, the classy and cultured one Jill preferred? Just like Jill thought she knew what was best for Phillip, Chris now knows what’s best for Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc). How could the man who went to jail for stalking Christine be dating Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), the woman who tried to run her and Paul (Doug Davidson) off the road! Maybe it’s because they have so much common…? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
