The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, July 12th is a study in hypocrisy, as Victor refuses to accept behavior from Neil and Ashley that he participates in on a regular basis, Billy has to tell lie after lie to keep himself afloat, and Mariah turns to a person she claims to despise for advice.
Your Business Is My Business
Neil (Kristoff St. John) takes advantage of information Ashley (Eileen Davidson) gave him to best Newman Enterprises. Neil assures Ashley that Victor (Eric Braeden) will understand. It’s just business, and Victor taught Neil that.
Victor doesn’t understand, throws his usual tantrum, and tells Neil they won’t be working together anymore. Neil dances with Ashley, thanks Victor for giving him more free time now, and kisses her.
Meanwhile, Victor gets a text from someone claiming to be JT (Thad Luckinbill). They should meet. Alone.
Keeping Your Head Above Water
Billy (Jason Thompson) lies to Ashley, and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) about where he’s been (gambling away even more money), and about where Jaboat is (lost in a poker game while claiming it’s being repaired). Billy tries to cash some mutual funds to get the money he needs to play in yet another game so he can win Jaboat back. But it will take 72 hours.
When he lies to Ashley about using his own money to get Jaboat fixed, it gives Billy an idea. He turns in an invoice, asking for reimbursement. And gets ready to play his arch-nemesis again. As Phyllis hires a private investigator.x
Kyle (Michael Mealor) urges Mariah (Camryn Grimes) to ask Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) out, and urges Tessa to give Mariah a chance. Tessa is reluctant.
Feeling insecure, Mariah asks Summer (Hunter King) for help with being attractive. When Summer gives her sincere advice, Mariah mocks her. Maybe we’ve found the problem….
