The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, June 12, 2020 – which is also, coincidentally, Loving Day, the anniversary of intermarriage being legalized in the United States – concludes classic love stories week with Cane and Lily getting married in Paris, and Delia celebrating her first post-cancer birthday… while Chelsea prepares to give birth to Delia’s little brother.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) beam with happiness. Lily asks Neil (Kristoff St. John) to walk her down the aisle while Cane assures Jill (Jess Walton) she’s the mother of the groom he prefers – his biological mother, Genevive (Genie Francis), isn’t invited or wanted.

Genevive, of course, doesn’t accept this as an answer. She calls and lies to confirm the location of the wedding, then sneaks on the grounds to watch.

Meanwhile, in Genoa City, Victor (Eric Braeden) and Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) are plotting to take over Genevive’s company.

Two Birthdays in One

Delia’s family gets together to celebrate Delia’s first birthday since beating cancer – this is one tragedy-prone little girl! Esther (Kate Linder) is there, so is Billy (Billy Miller), of course. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) are there to express their support. Nikki even gives Delia a saddle that is way, way too big for her, so she can ride on the Newman ranch.

On the other side of town, Chelsea’s mom, Anita (Catherine Bach, a.k.a. Daisy Duke), is reminding Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) that they are all set to sell the baby she’s carrying to Billy and Victoria – so stick with the program, girl! Chelsea grudgingly agrees… and promptly goes into labor.

She seems attached to her baby. And we know how attached she is to Connor (Judah Mackey) later. So isn’t it weird how, since coming back to Genoa City this last time, she hasn’t so much as expressed a passing interest in Johnny? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
