The Young and the Restless recap (YR) for Tuesday, July 24 seems to be in violation of some law, as no one is willing to tell Hilary that her prognosis is dire.
Meanwhile, Charlie tries to convince Shauna that the accident wasn’t her fault, and Mariah lashes out at Tessa.
Live Strong
Nate (Brooks Darnell) tells Devon (Bryton James) that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) is out of options.
Nate urges Devon to tell Hilary the truth, but Devon refuses. Nate says he went through something similar recently, and Devon shouldn’t waste a moment.
Devon takes that to mean keep lying to the woman he professes to love because it’s not like Hilary might have some things to say or some amends to make.
Or, basically, want to make her own decisions when she knows her time is coming to an end.
Instead, when Hilary expresses her fear that the baby was the only thing holding them together, Devon asks her to marry him.

Q&A
Lily (Christel Khalil) begs Hilary’s forgiveness, and Hilary lets her off the hook. In the waiting area, Cane (Daniel Goddard) forbids Charlie (Noah Alexander Garry) from going to see Shauna (Camryn Hamm), but the teen does it anyway. So why did he even bother asking?
Charlie tells Shauna not to blame herself.
Cane is also trying to keep Lily from knowing that she should be blaming herself. But then the police call, telling Mrs. Ashby she needs to come in and answer some questions about the accident.
Crystal Clear
Mariah (Camryn Grimes) keeps taking passive-aggressive jabs at Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), asking about her new girlfriend. Mariah finally spits out that she saw Tessa hugging another woman.
Tessa explains that she was hugging the woman who helped her find her sister, Crystal – Crystal, again! The reason Tessa didn’t tell Mariah about it was because Tessa killed Zach (Ryan Ashton), and she didn’t want to get Mariah involved. She was protecting her!
