The Young and the Restless (YR) recap for Thursday, August 9 features Summer looping Kyle into her plan to hook up Phyllis and Jack, as Summer continues going after Billy.
Meanwhile, Neil tried to play peacemaker between his kids as Lily learned what she’s being charged with.
Billy (Jason Thompson) accused Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) of plotting against him with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) – and Summer (Hunter King) told him.
Phyllis also told her daughter to stay out of it, then told Billy she’s worried he’s now gambling with Jabot. Billy assured her he has everything under control and Phyllis is the only thrill he needs.
Summer kissed Billy. He blew her off and snapped that he’s not telling Phyllis about Summer’s behavior in order to protect Phyllis, not Summer.
So, Summer convinced Kyle (Michael Mealor) to help her get footage of Phyllis cheating on Billy – with Jack (Peter Bergman). Kyle agreed, but only so he can watch Summer fail.
Summer and Kyle convinced Jack to go over to Phyllis’s where they’ve set up a camera. Jack arrived, he and Phyllis talked, Jack leaned in for a kiss, and Phyllis jerked away. Jack apologized and leaves.
Summer is going to need the same editor Cane (Daniel Goddard) once used against Billy.
Devon (Bryton James) said he never wants to see Lily (Christel Khalil) again, so she agreed to quit their company.
Neil (Kristoff St. John) tried to make peace between his son and daughter – and Devon can’t even play the I’m Adopted card, as Lily isn’t Neil’s biological child, either.
Devon wasn’t listening. All he cares about is that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and their baby are dead.
Lily worried that Devon will never forgive her, but then she finds out that she’s being arraigned on two counts of vehicular homicide, so she has more to worry about.
