The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, December 31 features an explosive New Year’s Eve in Genoa City. Victor’s escape plan was thwarted, Reed dropped a bombshell, and Devon’s party went off the rails.
Devon (Bryton James) threw a big bash to commemorate letting go of the past and walking into a fresh future.
Cane (Daniel Goddard) had one too many drinks and ended up passed out on the couch while the party was still in full swing. It was an embarrassment but that wasn’t the most shocking thing to happen.
Kyle (Michael Mealor) showed up to rekindle his romance with Lola (Sasha Calle) but she wasn’t interested. In fact, she made it known they are over and done by making out with Fen (Zach Tinker) at the stroke of midnight!
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) spent her evening with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) bonding over bad times. Nikki’s accident, Victor being MIA, and now Nick and Nikki disappearing weighed heavily on both ladies.
Phyllis took her exit when Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) came home and it wasn’t a moment too soon. Reed’s guilt got the best of him and he confessed to driving the car that hit his grandmother!
Meanwhile, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Nate (Brooks Darnell) got a shock when the ambulance pulled into Victor’s (Eric Braeden) private airstrip and the man himself was there to meet them.
His plan to take Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) out of the country was well underway and they were ready to take flight.
But, he couldn’t do it alone. He all but forced Nate to take a seat on the plane, leaving Nick on the ground.
Unfortunately, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) was tracking Nick’s phone and was right behind them. The police blocked off the strip and foiled his escape. Rey cuffed Victor and forced Nate, Nikki, and the pilot off the plane.
