The Young and the Restless has taught viewers a very important lesson: So much big business is conducted in a small town in Wisconsin. We’ve got clubs worth being covered by the social media crowd, a web talk show recognized nationally, and two billion dollar conglomerates, run by titans like Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

But there can only be one top dog in Genoa City. Which one is the fans’ favorite? What almost 8,000 neutral observers have to say:

The Young and the Restless Poll Results

Was there ever any question that it would be Victor, with 64% of the vote? Whenever Jack and Victor go head to head, Victor always wins, whether that’s Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Summer (Hunter King) — she ended up being Victor’s granddaughter rather than Jack’s daughter, or the sales of Jabot Cosmetics and…whatever it is Newman Enterprises sells.

But was this vote tallied prior to Victor’s “death?” Yeah, yeah, we know, it’s likely to stick about as long as the common cold. Still, we’re all supposed to be sobbing about it these days. With Victor shuffling off his mortal coil, is it finally time for Jack to eke out a win?

Jack Of All Trades

It doesn’t look that way, as only 37% of the audience picked Jack as their fave. Maybe it’s because he hasn’t had much to do lately. His romance with Kerry (Alice Hunter) imploded spectacularly — through no fault of Jack’s; the woman was a spy Ashley (Eileen Davidson) sent in.

All he’s been doing for months is talk business and prop up Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle). That’s not going to bring in the votes.

Now that it looks like Jack is drifting back into Sharon’s (Sharon Case) direction — or will at least write a book. That will raise his numbers, right?. Or will he still lose to a recently-dead man? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
