On The Young and the Restless, Fen has made periodic pop-ins to Genoa City since leaving town following a pointless story about his rivalry with Kyle (Michael Mealor).

The Young and the Restless Polling

Fen (Zach Tinker) told Lauren (Tracey Bregman) he was hooked on drugs via text. Lauren took off to deal with the problem — off-screen. Adam used what he knew about Fen’s problems to blackmail Michael (Christian Le Blanc) — on-screen. Lauren and Michael took care of it. Barely on-screen. Then Fen showed up over the holidays to announce he was all better now.

This story doesn’t really seem to be… there. Should it be? Should Fen come home to Genoa City? How almost 19,000 voted on it:

Not Needed

The no’s have it, with 54% of you dismissing the possibility of a return trip for Michael and Lauren’s baby boy. For one thing, he isn’t needed. Last time around, it was Fen and Kyle competing over Jabot… and Lola (Sasha Calle). Well, Summer and Kyle just hit the sheets, despite Kyle and Lola (Sasha Calle) not even starting divorce proceedings yet. So, she’s kind of busy, especially with Theo hanging around.

What do you think? Post a comment!

The only other woman in his age group on the canvas is Summer. And she’s got Kyle now. And Lola does not. But she still has Theo.

Legacies

A slightly smaller 46%  of The Young and the Restless fans like the idea, though. Always good to have more young people on the show to lead it into the next decade, and a real legacy character like Fen is much better than a “look, over here, he’s an Abbott, kind of, sort of, now love him!”

Jack can invite Theo to every family dinner for the next year, and fans still won’t feel about him the way they feel about Fen, who was born and grew up on the show — albeit, offscreen. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
