Things are getting back to normal on The Young and the Restless… even if everyone does seem to be strangely keeping their distance these days.
The Young and the Restless Polling
Lily (Christel Khalil) appears to be back for good. At least Billy (Jason Thompson) claims to be talking to her. So if Lily is back, should Cane (Daniel Goddard) return, too? What over 2,000 fans think of that idea:
It was close but, in the end, 55% of you opted for the Cane-free option. The dude had run his course. Some of you were ready to write him off when he cheated on Lily with Juliet and got her pregnant.
She very conveniently died, so that story was nipped in the bud – and baby Sam went to wherever it is all soap babies go until they are ready for an illness, custody fight, or boarding school.
But then there was the kiss with Victoria (Amelia Heinle), Lily in jail, the mess with Devon’s (Bryton James) money, and, ultimately, you just didn’t care anymore. He can stay gone as far as you’re concerned, and Lily can move on with Billy or whomever. Just let’s not go back to the Aussie well again, okay?
Come On Down!
A slightly smaller 45% of the audience, on the other hand, is all-in for a Lane reunion. Their breaking up never made much sense in the first place. OK, so Cane kissed Victoria. It didn’t go any further. If Lily could forgive him for Juliet, why not this?
And Lily was all about how she was going to have a new life now, helping women leaving prison to get jobs and reintegrate into society. That bit of do-goodism didn’t last long. She’s back in corporate media now. So if she can change her mind about that, she can change her mind about Cane. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
