The Young and the Restless star Jess Walton shared some painful news this past weekend, announcing her long-time husband, John, had his cancer return. A few days later, the veteran actress revealed a beautiful moment in her family that lifted everyone’s spirits for a little bit.

“Ever since my daughter Allison was a little girl she dreamed of having her dad walk her down the aisle,” Walton wrote on Twitter. “This weekend she married a wonderful man and my husband John was able to give her away and make her dream come true. Our hearts are full.”
Walton included a lovely image of John and Allison from the special day, and plenty of fans responded with congratulatory posts.
The actress also added a similar post on her Instagram account, and many of her castmates responded to her post. “This is beyond wonderful, congratulations,” Lauralee Bell (Christine) wrote, adding two heart emojis. Tracey Bregman, who plays her on-screen half-sister, Lauren, added a “so beautiful” to the mix.
The happy occasion came just a few days after Walton took to social media to reveal the news about the change in her husband’s health status.

“My remarkable husband John and I have led a blessed life for 40 years,” she wrote at the time. “Unfortunately though, his cancer has returned and our family is going through a very painful time.”
The actress asked for thoughts and prayers to show support for her long-time love, and the Tweets have come through.
“John has loved, protected and supported me, our family, and our country all these years and he has constantly helped those around him, both at home and all over the word,” Walton wrote. Bell, Kate Linder (Esther), Eileen Davidson (Ashley), and many others were among those offering love and support.
