A Young Teen Burton

A young teen Burton got his first big break in an odd syndicated sitcom co-starring Donna Pescow as a mother of a half-alien/half-human daughter name Evie. Burton played Evie’s boyfriend, surfer dude Chris Fuller on “Out of This World.”

His Real Name

Burton’s first name is not even really Steve. His given name is Jack Steven Burton, and he is named for his father. He has gone by the name Steve for as long as he can remember.

His is from Indiana

As a kid, Burton spent time in his birth place of Indiana, and then in a suburb of Cleveland before making the move to L.A. as a teen. He graduated from Beverly Hills High School, not to be confused with the fictional West Beverly High School from the popular series “90210.

His first role in Soap World

Burton’s first soap job was on “Days of Our Lives,” where he played Harris Michaels, a teenage Eve’s boyfriend for a short time. The role never caught on with fans and did not last long.

Jason Morgan

In 1991, Burton joined the cast of “General Hospital” as Jason Quartermaine, not to be confused with Jason Morgan. While both characters are biologically the same, they are actually quite different.

He was also in a video game

During his time on “GH,” Burton also voiced the “Final Fantasy” series of video games.

An emmy winner

Burton was nominated for several Daytime Emmy Awards and took home the gold in 1997 as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Amazing family

In 1999, Burton married longtime girlfriend Sheree Gustin and the couple have three children, Makena Burton, Jack Burton, and Brooklyn Burton.

Joined Y&R

After more than two decades as the two incarnations of Jason, Burton left “GH” in October 2012 and took on the role of Dylan on “The Young and the Restless” in December of 2012

Writer and Director

In 2005, Burton went behind the lens to try his hand at writing and directing. The movie, Laws of Gambling, may not have made it onto movie screens around the globe, but critics enjoyed it. The movie starred Jay Bontatibus, Ian Buchanan, and Gary Edward.
