Actors love hearing from their fans and in today’s digital world, it’s never been easier for devotees to tweet, post, and share their thoughts on storylines and other subjects to their favorite daytime stars. However, Camryn Grimes, who plays Mariah on The Young and the Restless, has an important message on behalf of herself and her fellow actors.
A Message From Camryn Grimes
“Hey this is gonna sound real privileged so I apologize & bear w/ me,” Grimes began a tweet. “If you manage to find/get ahold of somebody’s address (which idk how or why you would want to but here we are) please please do not send them mail. No matter how well-meaning, it can kind of freak us out.”
Of course this being social media, one poster took issue with Grimes “complaining” about “being freaked out” by hearing from her fans. (She’s not complaining, by the way.) The actress further clarified her stance by responding: “I’m not freaked out by fan mail… when it gets…delivered to the studio at the appropriate place. When people somehow get ahold of my personal address AND my parents’ address? Yes, that can be a little disconcerting.”
In fact, Grimes, who began her soap career as Cassie Newman on The Young and the Restless when she was just a little girl, loves fan mail and clarifies that. “If you would like to send mail, please do so! I love reading what you guys send me, just please do so at the Y&R studio at CBS, I read it all trust me. Mail sent to my address or my family’s and friends doesn’t sit well. Please and thanks.”
So, it’s probably a good idea to write to your favorites at the studio where your favorite soap shoots if snail mail is your thing. Actors do appreciate hearing from their fans. They just like to get their mail at the studio. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
