The Young and the Restless spoilers (YR) for Wednesday, December 27 demonstrates what it’s like when the people of Genoa City refuse to go down without a fight. Ashley has a plan to hoist Jack up with his own petard, Nick decides to do his family a favor — just as Paul brings out his biggest anti-Newman guns.

Father Land
Jack (Peter Bergman) assured Ashley (Eileen Davidson) that he didn’t rewrite the Jabot guidelines, specifying that only a blood Abbott could be CEO, in order to oust her.

He did it to protect the company from Phyllis (Gina Tognini), back when she was cheating on Jack.

So, really, this is all Billy’s (Jason Thompson) fault. From a certain point of view…

Then again, Jack isn’t above using said guidelines against Ashley, as long as she insists on dethroning him from what Jack believes is his birthright.

But Jack isn’t the only one who knows how to use the small print against an enemy. Ashley is also in it to win it.

Fool Me Once, Shame on Me
Nick (Joshua Morrow) agrees to attend his parents’ vow renewal. For the good of the company, of course, not because Victor (Eric Braeden) told him not to.

The Newmans are going all out to make the faux ceremony appear on the up and up. But Paul (Doug Davidson) isn’t buying it.

The Genoa City Chief of Police is convinced this is Victor’s way of covering up his crimes — and getting Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) back while he’s at it.

So Paul calls Victor’s bluff and agrees to attend the ceremony. Paul is sure someone will slip up and give Paul the evidence he needs to put Victor away.

The question is, will Nikki accept Paul’s help and turn state’s evidence against her husband, or will she insist on going down with the sinking Newman ship?
