They did come close to getting caught when Kyle showed up at the door. Fortunately, Nick was in the shower but Kyle realized something was wrong since Billy was at the office.
He grilled Phyllis who admitted to an affair but not the identity of her lover.

Phyllis raced off to the office to make things right with Billy (who’s close to getting caught swindling money by Gloria).

After a hot and heavy make-out session on the couch, Billy (Jason Thompson) turned the tables on Phyllis by telling her he wasn’t coming home, at least not yet.
At the same time, Nick went home to Sharon and the two had it out. All’s well that ends well though, as they decided they’re better together and Sharon put back on her ring.
