Abby (Melissa Ordway) was going to buy The Grand Pheonix with Phyllis. But then Victor (Eric Braeden) overheard her plans to phase Abby out, told his daughter, and she withdrew her offer of a partnership, hiring Chelsea instead.

Phyllis was not pleased to hear that. She teamed up with Adam to bring down all the Newmans… including Abby.
