The Young and the Restless spoilers for Wednesday, June 17, 2020, continues classic wedding week with a flashback to July 11, 1997, as family and friends gather for Malcolm and Olivia’s wedding… which comes with quite a bit of family and friend baggage.

Let’s break this down, shall we? Once upon a time, Dru (Victoria Rowell) was married to Neil (Kristoff St. John). She got loopy on cold medicine and accidentally slept with his brother, Malcolm (Shemar Moore) – who wasn’t loopy on cold medicine, but figured his sister-in-law finally realized just how sexy and Shemar Moore-like he was like – and she ended up giving birth to Lily (Christel Khalil).
At roughly the same time, Dru’s sister, Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) was married to Nate. They had a son, Little Nate (now Sean Dominic, then tiny, adorable Bryan Jones). Nate had an affair, then Nate died. The two weren’t directly connected. But it didn’t help.

Change Partners and Dance
Now Olivia and Malcolm are about to tie the knot, and Malcolm will adopt Little Nate… while Neil is oblivious to the fact that Lily isn’t his child. You got that?
Down the line, Olivia and Malcolm will divorce and fight over custody of Nate, while Neil will learn about Lily, decide that he still loves Lily (as he should, Neil was an upstanding guy). He and Dru will split. He and Dru will reunite. Dru will die. Neil will die, Olivia will have an affair with Brad (Don Diamont) while his wife, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) battles breast cancer… in other words typical soap stuff.
But for now, just sit back and enjoy the happy couple, their happy siblings, their happy attendants, and their happy kids… before everything goes bad. Like it always does on soaps.
