After their therapy session, Sharon (Sharon Case) told Nick she thought Victoria was pretending to get better, rather than actually getting better. Victoria would probably deny that.
So, when she encounters a setback, Victoria will do pretty much what Sharon accused her of, and hide it. Not just from her family, but from herself. This is not how we heal, Vic.
