The Young and the Restless spoilers for Wednesday, July 29, 2020 relive one of the saddest days in the Newman family’s lives… May 24, 2005, when Cassie died. Also, Malcolm was concerned about his “niece” Lily’s burgeoning relationship with Daniel.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

The weeks of YR reruns have been a Cassie-palooza. We watched as Sharon’s (Sharon Case) friend found her, we watched her bond with Sharon and Nick (Joshua Morrow). We watched her testify on the stand at her custody trial – and win an Emmy for it – and then we watched Sharon and Nick worry as their daughter lay in the hospital after a car accident.

Sharon and Nick – and the Genoa City Police Department – assumed Daniel was driving – drunk – when the car crashed. It was actually Cassie (Camryn Grimes), who doesn’t even have a license. Hearing that Daniel was going to be blamed for the crime, Cassie got out of bed and tried to prove her friend’s innocence.

What do you think? Post a comment!

Except that she overexerted herself, and this caused… death. Watch the Newmans say goodbye to their little girl. And bring plenty of tissues! (And don’t think about how she has a twin sister out there somewhere, who is currently living in a cult. Mariah is still about a decade away.)

Bad Boy

As you might imagine, Daniel is pretty much persona non-gratta to everyone but his mom, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), at the moment. Phyllis’ pal, Malcolm, would like to be on Phyllis’ side during this. But he’s got his own concerns about Daniel and his biggest defender – Lily (Christel Khalil).

Lily is Malcolm’s niece (OK, she’s his daughter, but that’s not relevant at the moment). What is relevant is that Daniel is about to go on the run – and Lily is going to go with him. We’ve seen that, too. It’s time travel – YR style! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
