Sharon (Sharon Case) finally discusses her oncology report with Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and it doesn’t look good. The first surgery did not help and now a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery look to be her best-case scenario. While the doctor believes this can work, there are clearly no guarantees — especially when it comes to cancer.

She finally agrees that she should have let Rey come to the doctor’s appointment because it was much harder to take than she thought it would be. She explains how she had all these fantasies of being told she was finally cancer-free and was even convinced that’s how the appointment turned out but it was not meant to be.

What Will Life Be Like?

Sharon also admits that the words reconstructive surgery got to her more than anything else. Like so many women who go through this, she wondered if she would ever feel the same and be attractive with a body without her natural breasts.

Rey is an absolute rock for her and even texts Nick (Joshua Morrow) just to say Sharon went to the doctor and she needs to be alone right now. Even Rey leaves her to her own devices, which may not be a good thing.

Always Adam

As soon as Sharon is alone, she gets on her phone and texts Adam (Mark Grossman), the man wallowing in self-pity in a seedy motel room while his childhood best friend tells Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) she is determined to make Adam pay for killing her father and using her to try to pin it on Victor.

Sharon doesn’t even know that’s going on but she still feels bad about what she said to Adam earlier and apologizes. She told him she won’t abandon him when he needs her but is Sharon thinking about what she needs at all? She already has to beat cancer. Does she need anything else so toxic in her life?
