Scenes from Genoa City: Friday, August 28, 2026
Billy (Jason Thompson) is at Society with Sally (Courtney Hope), fresh from making his pitch to Lily (Christel Khalil). He’s probably nervous but also excited, as he may feel this is the light at the end of the tunnel.
He may also share that he resents having to make a pitch for a company to which the Abbotts have a viable claim. But he has to feel good about what went down with his ex. Lily may actually hand over what he’s wanted for years: Chancellor.
Of course, Lily called Cane (Billy Flynn) over to discuss what had just happened. That she had challenged Billy to tell her exactly why he deserved to be in charge of Chancellor. By the end of her conversation with Billy, it looked like he was finally getting through to her.
But there’s still a lot of pride there for her because she loves Chancellor, and she has a lot of history with the company, just like Billy. Meanwhile, Cane, who’s running the company now, may not like what Lily has to say.
But, as he just told Adam (Mark Grossman), if he doesn’t have Chancellor, he’ll be fine. What will Lily ultimately decide? Will we know by the end of Friday’s episode?
Finally, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford, a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee) is on a bit of a tear right now. She doesn’t know where Matt Clark (Roger Howarth, a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee) is. There are a couple of worst-case scenarios here. Either Victor (Eric Braeden) did something to make Matt disappear. Or Matt left town of his own volition.
Look for Phyllis to actually have a chat with her son. The two have been estranged for a while now. And it’s unclear whether things will change for the two if/when Daniel (Michael Graziadei, a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee) realizes that his mother doesn’t want to give up on Matt and has given him a job at Arabesque.
Another element of this situation is that the weekly teasers reveal that Matt is about to reconnect with someone Phyllis despises: Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk, a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee). Why does Matt want to talk to Patty?
