The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, August 17, see Jack telling Traci and Ashley about a possible business shift, while Billy can’t wait to tattle to Lily and Cane about it — before anything is confirmed.

Key Takeaways

  • Jack tells Traci and Ashley about John’s surprising Chancellor arrangement.
  • Billy wastes no time confronting Lily and Cane with his discovery.
  • Nate turns to Stephanie as he works toward practicing medicine again.

Next on The Young and the Restless: Jack Is Cautiously Optimistic

Billy (Jason Thompson) filled Jack (Peter Bergman) in on his discovery that John (Jerry Douglas) loaned money to Chancellor that was never repaid, meaning the Abbotts now own Chancellor. According to Billy, anyway.

Jack is taking the news under consideration. He shares it with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Traci (Beth Maitland, who’s nominated for a 2026 Daytime Emmy). It shouldn’t change their lives one way or the other. But he wants them to hear it from him first.

Boasting Billy Belittles Buddies

Billy, on the other hand, can’t wait to start spreading the news. Before it’s confirmed, much less implemented. He goes running to Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Billy Flynn) with a childish, “Nyah, nyah, nyah, I’m going to get back the company I decided belonged to me for no reason beyond I wanted it.”

Will Cane explain to him how business for big boys works? Or will life smack Billy around first? It’s so sad that we’ve got a conflict where there is no one to root for. (Not even Lily. Sure, Victor screwed her over, but she also used her own kids in a plot against their dad in favor of Victor, so she isn’t blameless, either.)

Nate Takes a Step Toward Becoming a Doctor Again

Nate (Sean Dominic, who’s nominated for a 2026 Daytime Emmy) has decided he wants to be a doctor again, so he turns to Stephanie (Viveca A. Fox), now Chief of Staff at the hospital, for help. She’s already offered him a job, so we’re sure she’ll be happy to help him get the treatment he needs and then hire him back as a surgeon.
