Fall is coming to The Young and the Restless, and Genoa City is about to get very complicated, especially with its new head writers. While Billy and Sally prepare for what TV Insider reported the show is calling the “wedding of the year,” several other relationships are moving in unexpected directions.

Key Takeaways

  • Billy and Sally plan an October wedding, but Adam remains intertwined with Sally.
  • Victoria and Kyle realize their relationship is more than a casual affair.
  • Nate and Stephanie’s friendship turns romantic.
  • Lily’s secret threatens her future with Cane.
  • Nick’s growing bond with Marie could cause serious trouble.

Billy and Sally’s Wedding Comes With an Adam Warning

Billy (Jason Thompson, who teased wedding prep) and Sally (Courtney Hope) are headed down the aisle in October, but apparently getting there won’t be simple. Executive producer Sally McDonald teased a “wedding of the year” where fans should “expect the unexpected.”

There’s another intriguing complication. Adam (Mark Grossman) and Sally’s lives will become intertwined again this fall. Add in Traci (Beth Maitland) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) having very different opinions about their future sister-in-law, and this wedding already has plenty of potential for drama before anyone says “I do.”

Victoria and Kyle Aren’t Just Having an Affair Anymore

Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) tried treating their night together as something that wouldn’t happen again. Good luck with that. This fall, they’ll realize what they’re doing is much more than a casual affair. They’ll also go to considerable lengths to hide it, which only increases their attraction.

Meanwhile, Nate (Sean Dominic) and Stephanie (Vivica A. Fox) are another unexpected pairing to watch. Her support during his hand surgery leads their friendship toward something more, although Holden’s (Nathan Owens) reaction could complicate matters.

Lily and Abby Face Secrets From the Past

Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Billy Flynn) may finally be finding their way back together, but there’s a rather significant catch: Lily has a secret. Something from her past could stop their reconciliation just as it’s gaining momentum.

Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Devon (Bryton James) aren’t safe either. Devon continues struggling with guilt over Dom’s kidnapping, putting pressure on their marriage. Abby eventually turns to someone from her past for support, and Y&R isn’t revealing who that is yet.

Phyllis and Matt Get Closer as Nick and Marie Find Trouble

Anyone hoping Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) would listen to the warnings about Matt (Roger Howarth) probably shouldn’t hold their breath. Their push and pull intensifies this fall, and after Phyllis finally scores a much-needed win, she’ll have to decide whether she actually wants Matt in her life.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) also gets pulled deeper into Marie’s (Jade Harlow) orbit. Sharon (Sharon Case) fears the relationship could threaten Nick’s sobriety, and Marie’s complicated past eventually leaves Nick in a compromising position. Whatever that means, it doesn’t sound like Sharon is worrying for nothing.

Soap Opera Digest also reported that Y&R’s new head writers, Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor, have an official airdate — Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
