On the next The Young and the Restless, Patty has the upper hand. She has forced a sudden relationship with Jack, and she’s using Diane’s “nervous breakdown” as leverage. The photos for the Monday, June 22 episode feature Jack finally getting to talk to the doctor who’s basically holding Diane captive. For her own good, of course.
Key Takeaways
- Patty escalates the pressure on Jack as she pushes her version of their relationship.
- Jack finally gets a chance to speak with Dr. Markham, the man keeping Diane isolated.
- Nikki receives devastating health news after seeking answers about her worsening headaches.
Scenes from Genoa City
Patty (Stacy Haiduk) isn’t interested in hiding her newfound “relationship” with Jack (Peter Bergman). And from the look on Jack’s face, he isn’t enjoying any second of his current predicament. It’s a good bet that Patty’s not enjoying Jack’s reluctance and his apparent refusal to completely give in to his circumstances. According to the weekly spoilers, Patty threatens Jack. She might tell him to get on board sooner rather than later. Or else.
Meanwhile, Diane (Susan Walters) has been doing some of her own pretending with this Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns), who happens to follow the teachings of manipulative psychiatrist Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins). Last week, she tried to play along, probably in hopes of figuring out a way to get out of his house.
But Dr. Markham kept up his gaslighting tactics. He has been trying to get Diane to believe she had a nervous breakdown. In turn, Diane has told him that she doesn’t want to get transferred to a psychiatric facility, that she would rather stay at his house. All the easier for her to either escape or be found. Who will make inroads with the other this week: Diane or the doctor?
Speaking of Dr. Markham, Patty makes good on her claim and lets Jack talk to the doctor who is caring for Diane during her “trying time.” The conversation takes place at the Abbott mansion, where Jack and Patty currently live alone. She made sure her new beau kicked Traci (Beth Maitland) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) to the curb when she moved in. Will Jack be able to get Dr. Markham to tell him where Diane is?
Elsewhere, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) has been plagued by near-blinding headaches for a few weeks. And she has finally decided to see a doctor. Thankfully, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is by her side because Nikki receives devastating news about her health. What does she find out?
