The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, July 28 finally confirms what viewers have long suspected – Mariah Copeland is being held prisoner, while Phyllis Summers continues with her plot to bring down Tara Locke and Sally Spectra, and Nate Hastings teases Elena Dawson.

As Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) vows to be more hands-off with Mariah (Camryn Grimes) once she returns from her out-of-nowhere trip, and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) breaks down and tries to track her down online, Mariah is actually locked in a room with no windows – and no one to take credit for her kidnapping. Tessa sees that Mariah’s cell phone is blocked from tracking.
Young and Restless: Elevate
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) tricks Sally (Courtney Hope) and Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) into meeting in The Grand Phoenix’s elevator, where Phyllis records their heated, though silent, confrontation. Sally realizes that Phyllis set her up, but Phyllis blows Sally off. She’s already sent the video footage to Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Previously, both had agreed that Tara was a saint who would never do anything wrong. After all, could the mother of the Abbott heir be anything but pristine? Kyle was perfectly happy to put all the blame on Sally, though Jack demurred, especially since they’d decided to give their relationship another shot. But when they see the video, both agree they need to speak to the women. So score one for Phyllis!
Y&R Recap: The Long Tease
Nate (Sean Dominic) spends an entire episode teasing Elena (Brytni Sarpy) about some big news he has for her. It’s not until the last minute that he tells her he’s the new Chief of Surgery. The reason for the slow rollout? So that we can realize that Stitch Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) lied to Abby when he said he was staying in Genoa City to take on that position. And in the same episode with a kidnapped Mariah! What are the odds?
