Summer has spent the better part of the last few days worried about her mother on Young and the Restless. She’s sent text after text and placed call after call only to be met with silence. Uh-oh! Where did Phyllis go?! Poor Summer is beside herself…which is the perfect excuse to keep Kyle close!
Hold Me, Kyle!
Just look at what happened during the Friday, February 21 episode. Summer (Allison Lanier) waltzed into Crimson Lights and immediately blubbered all over Kyle (Michael Mealor). She sobbed about her mother going silent and began to worry for Phyllis’s safety. What if…oh, what if something happened to her?! Summer wouldn’t be able to live if she lost her mama.

Using All the Tricks
And, her tears worked. Kyle hardly so much as glanced over at his date while comforting his ex wife. Poor Claire (Hayley Erin) had to sit there and witness her cousin pulling out all the stops. Talk about an eye-roll moment! Claire took it like a champ, though. Summer may have been a master at playing a damsel in distress, but Claire was raised to be a maniac, and if her cousin pushes the wrong button, Claire may not be able to contain herself.
Of course, Summer isn’t taking Claire’s deranged past into consideration while playing these emotional games. She has her eye on the prize and knows Kyle will never turn her away when she’s in need. They may not always get along, but they are always each other’s first call when things go wrong. With Phyllis missing in action, Summer has a daily reason to phone up her former flame and cry on his shoulder.

Pick Me, Choose Me, Love Me
Will her plan work, though? It seems like she’s already getting into Kyle’s head. He even proposed the idea of a break up to Claire. Sure, he staged it as saving Claire from Victor’s wrath, but was that truly why? Has Summer gotten under Kyle’s skin and now he’s questioning his romantic future? Claire and Kyle are cute and all, but everyone knows Summer is his soulmate.
