The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, March 4, sees Phyllis and Sharon get a riddle to solve while Summer, Nick, Billy, and Daniel continue trying to figure out what happened to them, along with Chance’s help.
What Happened on Y&R?
Nick (Joshua Morrow) met Summer (Allison Lanier) at Crimson Lights and tried to calm her down. Esther (Kate Linder) brought them drinks. Esther worried about Sharon (Sharon Case), as she hadn’t been responding to messages. Nick reassured her that Sharon was just at a spa, but Esther seemed annoyed.
Chance (Conner Floyd) arrived and informed them that there was no record of Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) traveling anywhere. They speculated on what might have happened, but Summer was sure that Phyllis would have told Daniel (Michael Graziadei) if it were business-related. Chance got a call and learned that there wasn’t any record of Sharon checking in anywhere in Sedona.
Nick wondered why Sharon would lie, but Summer reminded him she had done so before. She suggested Sharon might want time alone, but Nick doubted it. Chance sided with Nick, noting that Faith (Reylynn Caster) was worried. Nick admitted he felt helpless when people he cared about went missing and was almost certain this was not a coincidence.

Curious Disappearance
Meanwhile, Daniel visited Billy (Jason Thompson) and shared that there were still no updates on Phyllis. Nothing made sense to him. Billy agreed, pointing out that Phyllis had constantly called him before vanishing. Daniel also mentioned that Sharon had disappeared around the same time. Billy dismissed the idea of them taking a trip together. Both women had called around the same time from burner phones.
Daniel considered the possibility of revenge but noted that his mother had insisted she was past that. Billy doubted they were simply reconciling and suggested they might have been kidnapped together. Daniel thought it was odd that there was no ransom note. He reasoned that no one in their right mind would want both Sharon and Phyllis in the same room. Still, Billy admitted that kidnapping was a possibility.
More Worries
Back at Crimson Lights, Nick asked Summer about her relationship with Chance. She admitted she still resented how he had treated her brother during the murder investigation. Although they were civil, she wasn’t sure they could move past it. However, she appreciated that he was trying to help.
Nick predicted that Phyllis would return with a dramatic story, but Summer was worried. She remembered how they had reassured Daniel about Heather (Vail Bloom), only for things to go wrong. Nick reminded her that staying positive was crucial.
Chance returned after making calls, and Daniel and Billy joined the group. Chance revealed that Phyllis had made a call from the GCAC garage, and there was still no record of Sharon anywhere. The group debated who could be behind the situation. Summer suggested that only Sharon and Phyllis were involved, but the others weren’t so sure.
Riddle Me This
Meanwhile, in a mental clinic basement, Phyllis woke up, complaining about the nightmare she was trapped in. She noted that at least Sharon hadn’t snored. She realized there had been no alarm clock that morning. Sharon searched for clues, but Phyllis doubted their captor would leave anything useful.
Phyllis speculated that whoever had taken them was aware of Sharon’s mental health history. Sharon suspected the person was either a patient or a doctor from the clinic. Phyllis thought that Nick and the Newmans could pay any ransom, but Sharon thought their situation probably wasn’t about money. She thought it was about proving something.
Phyllis scoffed at the idea. She said Sharon always acted like a victim. Phyllis wondered if Mariah (Camryn Grimes — who enjoyed this recently) could be responsible. Sharon doubted it. Phyllis even suggested Nick might have orchestrated it to force them to work things out. Sharon didn’t think Nick would ever want them to fear for their lives.
They argued, and Phyllis accused Sharon’s past psychiatric patients of being behind the abduction. Sharon got frustrated, and Phyllis mocked her for crying. Sharon wondered if their captor wanted them to turn against each other. Furious, Phyllis shouted at the intercom, demanding to know if their abductor wanted only one of them to survive. She said she was ready for the challenge.
Phyllis attempted to break a window with a chair, but Sharon wrestled it away, warning that she could get them killed. Phyllis eventually gave up. Sharon admitted that their captor might be someone who knew and hated them both.
A voice over the intercom responded, saying that entertainment was not the goal—only the game mattered. Then, the voice posed a riddle: “What is worth everything but costs nothing?”
