Mariah’s been linked to both men (Tyler, Kevin, Devon) and a woman (Tessa) on The Young and the Restless. With her relationship with the latter being in limbo, it might be time for her to move on, but should it be to a man or another woman?
Soap Hub asked Y&R fans what they think Mariah’s next move should be. Read on for the results!
Traditional Values
The majority of you, 69%, feel that Mariah should find a nice young man and settle down. You probably view Mariah’s feelings for Tessa as an aberration. She was confused and didn’t know what she was feeling.
So the only logical course would be for her to go back to dating men. Kevin’s not an option since they decided a while ago they were better off being friends. Tyler’s off the canvas. That leaves Devon.
There’s a big fan base for Hilary and Devon, however, so Mariah might be in for a fight if she wants to make a go of it with Devon.
Keep Trying
Just under 17% of you feel that Y&R should continue to have Mariah explore her true feelings and what truly might make her happy.

If that means pursuing Tessa or another woman, then that’s what Mariah should do. Same sex storylines on soap operas aren’t anything new but this one, despite outstanding performances from all involved, especially Camryn Grimes’ Mariah, viewers have not warmed to.
Alternative Storytelling
The rest of you, a little over 13%, feel that Mariah could be paired with a woman again, but not one who’s already on the canvas. You recommend that the story could work if a brand-new character came on whom she could develop a relationship with.
This would leave Tessa free to be with Noah and Mariah would be free to be with someone who isn’t attached to anyone else.
