Loren Lott and Nichelle Nichols weren’t on The Young and the Restless at the same time, but now the two women are teaming up in a new production in which they’ll play the same character at different times.
Young and the Restless Alums Unite For New Film
Nichols and her Star Trek co-star Walter Koenig (Chekov) are appearing in Star Trek Renegades Ominara, which tells the story of Nichols’ character Ominara and her lifelong conflict with Professor Steiner (played by Koenig).
After escaping imprisonment, Ominara (played as a younger woman by Lott) and her pals become wanted criminals, aided by the crime lord Reza (played by Jason Faunt).
Johnny Jay Lee plays the younger version of Koenig’s role. The cast also includes Chalet Lizette Brannan as Shane Rallent and Jackie R. Jacobson plays Alex.
The project is directed by Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager). Novelist Frank Zanca is serving as a writer and producer. Sky Conway (Star Trek: Of Gods & Men, Star Trek: Renegades, and Renegades: The Requiem) is the executive producer.

As YR fans recall, Nichols played the role of Lucinda, the mother of Kristoff St. John’s Neil. A dying Lucinda and Neil were reunited after a long separation. In their brief time together, Lucinda revealed to Neil that she was an alcoholic just as Neil was. Nichols scored a Daytime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Guest Actor in Drama Series in 2017.
