This latest development with Shemar Moore may sound familiar as his current status pretty much unfolded the same way a year ago! Soap Hub recently reported that CBS announced the series finale of the actor’s prime time series S.W.A.T. would air in May and that the show ending would open up Moore’s availability to reprise Malcolm on Young and the Restless. Well, now that may have to be rethought. Why? S.W.A.T. is coming back for a Season 8!

Moore Says There’s More S.W.A.T.

SWAT FAM!!!!!!” Moore enthused in an Instagram post. “The dream continues all because of YOU the FANS!!!! We love y’all and wouldn’t be here without your continued love and support!!! Thank you to [CBS] and [Sony Pictures Television] for believing in us!! Season 8 here we come!!”

Shemar Moore shared on social media a reel in which he stepped into a boxing ring set on the stage where S.W.A.T. is filmed to share the happy news with the show’s production. “When I first got this job, I said it’s a dream job,” the actor, who plays Sgt. Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, began. “Seven years later, still a dream job. It’s hard as hell sometimes, but it’s worth it.

“I’m tired from the season,” Moore admitted. “I’m worried about my hamstrings. I’m turning 54 in a week.” The Daytime Emmy-winner added that he’s going to have keep his body (including his hamstrings) in good shape especially as he plans on climbing on tankers and flying around in helicopters for 22 more episodes!

Last year, Moore went on social media and lamented the show ending, which it was scheduled to do. Then, a decision was made to bring S.W.A.T. back for another “final” season. Now, the show has been renewed again.

“[You should feel] really proud of yourselves because we gave them something to think about and here they are, here we are,” he enthused. “S.W.A.T. ain’t over, baby! Uncanceled twice!”

As far as Y&R goes, Moore has juggled both guest spots in Genoa City and his nighttime series so it’s always possible we could see him back on the show as Malcolm.
