This Really Just Happened With Nick And Phyllis On Y&R

On the March 11, 2024, episode of The Young and the Restless, Phyllis, fresh off her rejection from Danny, ended up in a suite at the Genoa City Athletic Club with her ex-husband Nick. We know what we thought would happen — these two would hop in the sack and then enjoy some video game time. However, something surprised us, instead. (Is this their real future?)

Wait, What Happened With ‘Phick?’

We could see where the whole thing was going. A drunk Phyllis (Michelle Stafford, who recently issued a fun challenge to her Y&R co-stars) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) were at the bar at the jazz club together. Phyllis poured out her story of woe, declaring her attempts at changing were futile. It had all the makings of a Phyllis and Nick hookup. Not surprisingly, they ended up upstairs — ostensibly for some room service junk food..

Phyllis desperately tried to kiss Nick in an effort to make herself feel better after Danny (Michael Damian) firmly chose Christine (Lauralee Bell) over her. After all, this type of thing happens between Nick and Phyllis every few years, so it didn’t feel too surprising to see where things were going…or so we thought!

Instead of falling into what is easy and familiar, Nick pumped the brakes on things. Phyllis was drunk, and he didn’t fall into bed with her. Nick nicely but firmly let his ex-wife and the mother of his child know that he wasn’t going to be her booty call. Instead, he pointed out that they could always count on each other…as friends.

It certainly showed growth on Nick’s part. Plus, it gave us some (not a lot) of hope that Phyllis might truly be able to change. Obviously, as part of her change, Phyllis will experience setbacks. Could it be that she’s still on the (bumpy) road to redemption? Perhaps, but we’re not holding our breath. Of course, we ARE holding our breath for the reunion of Nick and Sharon (Sharon Case, who discussed a ‘Shick’ reunion not long ago).
