The Young and the Restless News: Tyler Johnson Has A Bad Case of Puppy Love

Theo Vanderway got some new relatives last year when he found out he was Kyle Abbott’s cousin on The Young and the Restless. Theo’s portrayer, Tyler Johnson, has now gotten a new family member — a new pooch named Echo.

Tyler Johnson: Man’s Best Friend

Like many new dog owners, Johnson started posting photos and videos right away. “It’s just a puppy photo frenzy! (I’m sorry! I just love her so much!),” the actor tweeted. He’s not going to have to apologize again. Fans would love to see pix of Echo on a daily basis.

Later, he provided an update on training his new dog. “I got her to sit still!!!” he enthused. “Also, thank you for humoring me. I present to you… ‘Echo!’ My heart is full.”

Johnson joined YR last year as Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) ‘frenemy’ from New York. The two shared escapades and Theo wasn’t 100% happy when his pal settled down as a married man to Lola so relatively early in life. Conflict grew between the two men when it was revealed that Tyler’s paternal grandmother is Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), who also happens to be Kyle’s paternal grandmother!

Kyle and Theo came into conflict at Jabot and became competitors. Theo fell for Kyle’s trap in which Theo ‘appropriated’ a marketing plan, which originally belonged to Jack (Peter Bergman) — the man to whom Theo was presenting the idea! (Oops.)

On a romantic front, Kyle dumped his bride Lola (Sasha Calle) in order to return to Summer (Hunter King). Will this pave the way for a Theo/Lola pairing? Stay tuned to find out! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
