As Mia Rosales, Noemi Gonzalez was on her way to becoming The Young and the Restless’ next female instigator as Mia was involved with both Rey, and his brother, Arturo. As viewers recall, the show cut the story short, sending a pregnant Mia and Arturo off the canvas, but fans are still following Gonzalez’s career.
Noemi Gonzalez In New Role
The actress recently shared on Instagram that her latest movie has achieved a top ranking. “The Tax Collector is the #1 movie in the country & to that I say GRACIAS!!!” Gonazalez tweeted. “🙏🏽✊🏽✨🙌🏽 #thetaxcollector #davidayermovies #cedarparkentertainment #rljefilms.”
The Tax Collector, produced, written, and directed by David Ayer, stars Shia LaBeouf and George Lopez. The action/thriller tells the tale of two enforcers – AKA tax collectors — working for a crime lord in Los Angeles whose business becomes upended. Gonzalez plays the character of Delia. It’s available in theaters and on digital demand.
But that film role isn’t the only new project on Gonzalez’s plate. Next up is a role in Selena: The Series, based on the life of the late singer, who was only 23 when she was killed in 1995 by the founder of her fan club. Gonzalez portrays Suzette Quintanilla, the sister of the doomed star.
She found out she booked that role a year ago and recently marked the occasion with a post on Instagram — with a picture of her getting the actual news. “A year ago when I found out I booked the role of Suzette Quintanilla ✨🙏🏽🙈😇” Former YR co-star Alice Hunter (ex-Kerry) commented saying, “LOVE this 😍”
While Gonzalez and her bigger-than-life character Mia have been gone from the Genoa City landscape for a while now, her ex-husband Rey (Jordi Vilauso) has moved on with Sharon (Sharon Case). Those two seem quite happy — which means the time is ripe for Mia to return and ruin everything. Will she? Stay tuned. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
