Soap hopper Sean Kanan has been on serials on all three networks including General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Sunset Beach. He’s had a lot of leading ladies, but off-camera he’s a one-woman man!

A Sean Kanan Milestone

“Seven years ago today in an idyllic village overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, I embarked on the most important journey of my life,” Kanan tweeted. “That was the day @MicheleKanan agreed to be my wife. Happy anniversary baby.”

The two are not only partnered in life but in business, too. Their latest co-production is the Daytime Emmy-nominated web series Studio City, which Kanan stars in as Sam Stevens (on-screen within the series, he’s Dr. Pierce Hartley). Michele and Sean are both nominated for Outstanding Writing Team for a Digital Daytime Series.

Earlier this year, Sean Kanan posted on Instagram: “I wouldn’t want to team up as a husband/wife filmmaking duo with anyone else! #husbandandwifeteam #filmmaking #amazonprime #studiocity #studiocityshow.” The Daytime Digital Drama Series awards will be handed out on Sunday, July 19.

Kanan began his daytime career as A.J. Quartermaine on GH. He played the role from 1992 to 1997. He then popped up as Jude Cavanaugh in the final months of NBC’s Sunset Beach. After that, the actor was cast in arguably his most popular role, Deacon Sharpe on BB.

As viewers have been reminded of in recent classic BB airings, Deacon split from wife Bridget (then-Jennifer Finnigan) and fell for her mother, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). The two made love and conceived a baby (Hope). Stephanie (Susan Flannery) learned the truth and blasted Brooke, encouraging her to go ahead with a loveless marriage with Whip (Rick Hearst) so that Bridget wouldn’t learn the truth.

Bridget overheard via a baby monitor intimate words between Brooke and Deacon, which knocked the wind out of her. In time, Bridget was able to forgive her mother for her affair of the heart. Deacon left town and popped up on YR for a while, falling for Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). Soap Hub congratulates the Kanans on their anniversary!
