Melissa Ordway not only plays a loving mom on TV to her son Dominic on The Young and the Restless, but she’s one in real life, too, to daughters Olivia and Sophie. The actress is celebrating a special day in her older daughter’s life.
Happy Coronation Day
“Happy ‘Coronation Day’ to our sweet, beautiful Olivia Christine Gaston,” Ordway began an Instagram post, celebrating her daughter. What is “Coronation Day”? “[It] is what we call our adoption ‘gotcha day,”’ the actress explains. “It’s a huge celebration in our family…It’s the day the judge and state of CA made our family official, even though it had always been official to us.
“I had dreamed about you,” the happy mom continues. “I had heard God whisper to me about you. I prayed for you. And the moment I laid eyes on you, I was forever changed. You brightened our world, Olivia. And I couldn’t be more grateful to be your mom.

“We are so proud of you. You are the sweetest, kindest soul I’ve ever known,” Ordway adds. “Thank you for letting me be a part of your story. I know God had an awesome plan for your life. In all the world, you were chosen to be ours.”

Ordway’s Y&R pals, including Patty Denney (former makeup artist), Christian Le Blanc (Michael), and Lauralee Bell (Christine), chimed in with messages of love and support to Ordway and her family. Ordway’s husband, Michael Gaston, is known for his roles on Days of our Lives (he originated the part of Ben), and he stepped in to place Chance when Abby and Chance tied the knot in the Chancellor mansion.
