Late last year, The Young and the Restless alum Loren Lott reprised her role as Devon’s sister, Ana, at his wedding to Abby. While seeing her back on the CBS soap was great, it’s even better to discover what she has going on outside the daytime world. Lott recently updated her social media followers on her latest career move.

Jackie Brown, Baby!

On Instagram, Lott posted a video in which she told her fans and followers that she would be “playing Jackie Brown in the Tarantino musical in Los Angeles at Cinevita. Ahhhhhhhh,” she screamed. The production pays homage and brings to life characters and music from the roster of movies Quentin Tarantino has made over the years.

The musical also plucks songs from the soundtracks of the Oscar-winning director’s cinematic movie universe, including Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Jackie Brown.

According to the Cherish the Day actress, “This is my first theater production in Los Angeles, and this is my first return to the theater since I was on Broadway.” Lott’s Broadway credits include Once on This Island and Motown: The Musical.

Behind-the-Scenes Sneak Peek

The excited actress prepared for the show’s first tech rehearsal by packing up some tea and water and then heading out. “I moonwalk to the stage door and get dressed in my Jackie Brown outfit.”

Quentin Tarantino directed the iconic Pam Grier in the big screen version of Jackie Brown in 1997. Almost 30 years later, Lott plays the flight attendant with a criminal past. Jackie Brown is sexy, cool, and badass. The Y&R alum gave fans a sneak peek of what goes on behind the scenes of a massive production like this.

“Tech Week is the week before the show goes up,” she explained. “Lights, sound, props, music, and set pieces are all incorporated for the first time.” Next, she talked about props. “So we tested my props to make sure I could work with them.”

The quick video next discussed lighting, and Lott provided some valuable insight that we don’t often see: “I just stand in my seat and let them light me,” she continued. “Then I move a little bit and stand and let them light me. This process takes hours.”

The singer/actress was clearly pumped about the Jackie Brown costumes. “I have several costumes, but when I tell you I’m obsessed with my little flight attendant look, I mean just, oh, bam, but I can’t wait to take you on this Tarantino journey, so stay tuned.”

Soap fans know that Lott has an amazing voice from her time on Y&R. For those in Los Angeles, Tarantino: Pulp Rock begins performances at The CineVita on February 11 and runs through March 9. Tickets are available here.
