Michael Muhney, formerly Adam on The Young and the Restless, has taken to social media to make a personal plea because a beloved family member is facing a health battle related to COVID-19.

Thoughts For Michael Muhney

“Been torn about putting this on social media but I want to ask for prayers & good energy for my stepdad, Ed,” posted Muhney, adding, that Ed has been wed to Muhney’s mom for 22 years. “Hospitalized in ICU w/COVID since Xmas morning. Intubated. He’s in big trouble now. Needs all the positive energy he can get. We (love) Ed.”

Muhney’s followers responded with a plethora of heartfelt messages and prayers for his stepdad. “Dear Michael,” wrote @mjj1434, “so sorry to read this. Of course, my prayers will be for your stepfather and your Mom and the family.”

“Your mom must be so stressed, worried, and sad too for him being so ill,” posted @perfectrose2011. “Am really sorry to read this news. Of course, you, Jaime, and the children; as well as the rest of your family are worried too. Sending my prayers for him and for your mom.”

“Prayers go out to you and your entire family,” posted @BainbridgePhoto. “It appears you REALLY LOVE your stepfather, a man who is very lucky to have you as stepson!”

“I am so sorry that your stepdad is so gravely ill,” wrote @NSBooklady2. “I will definitely keep him on my prayer list. Hopefully, he will recover. Miracles do happen and prayers can help that along.”

Muhney played Adam from 2009 to early 2014. During his tenure on the show, Adam accidentally fatally struck Delia (Sophie Pollono) with his car, a story that continues to reverberate on the show today as the feud between Billy (Jason Thompson), Delia’s dad, and Adam (now, Mark Grossman) rages on. While Adam’s role in Delia’s death was unintentional, he purposely kidnapped Sharon’s (Sharon Case) daughter Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) to cover his role in Ashley (Eileen Davidson) losing her baby.

Soap Hub joins Muhney’s supporters in hoping that his stepdad Ed makes a full recovery. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
