On-screen, Billy Abbott is a tortured family man, still mourning the loss of his daughter, Delia, on The Young And The Restless. But what about the man who brings Billy to life? Jason Thompson has been a daytime staple for over a decade. Here are some fun facts about the talented star!

A native of Saint Albert, Canada, Jason Craig Thompson was working in a restaurant in Edmonton, Alberta when he was merely 16 and a talent scout discovered him. At 18, the future-actor began a successful modeling career working in runway, print, and commercials. He appeared in a very successful campaign for Gap.

The Doctor Is In
Thompson made his daytime debut in 2005 as neurosurgeon Dr. Patrick Drake on General Hospital, the son of Dr. Noah Drake (singer Rick Springfield). There, Thompson helped bring back a focus on the hospital to GH. In 2015, he played Dr. Steve Hardy (the late John Beradino) in an anniversary tribute episode.

Teaching Life
Taking part in ABC’s “Fan February” in 2007, Thompson and a first-grade school teacher switched places for a day. He traded in Patrick’s stethoscope and became a teacher for a day!

Also, sorry, ladies. Thompson is off the market. In 2015, he wed longtime girlfriend, Paloma Jonas. The couple welcomed a son, Bowie Banjo, in 2016. Their second child, a daughter, Rome Coco, was born in 2017.

Prime Time Credits And Accolades
Away from soaps, Thompson has appeared on Undressed, Felicity, Castle, and 90210. Additionally, he’s been nominated for a Daytime Emmy for his role as GH’s Patrick five consecutive times starting in 2011.

His first two nods were in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series. The other three were for Outstanding Leading Actor In A Drama Series.
