Now that they don’t have to fake a breakup to fool Victor and teach Kyle a lesson, Jack and Diane can discuss important things on the February 6 episode of The Young and the Restless: Interior decorating! (Hey, marriages have broken up over less. Some people are very passionate about their beige versus their eggshell.) But is that really all that Diane is up to? We suspect not.

Newer Is Always Better

We understand that Diane (Susan Walters) wants to put her own stamp on the place where she intends to live for the rest of her life and watch her grandson, Harrison (Redding Munsell), grow up. (Until Kyle [Michael Mealor] throws yet another hissy fit and threatens to move out.)

But it’s got to be more than that. What if, the last time Diane lived at the Abbott Mansion, she hid something—something very important? Either something very valuable or something that could get into a lot of trouble. Either way, she needs to dig it up. Remodeling is a great cover for underhanded actions.

New To Me

On the other hand, what if Diane truly is entering into this project innocently…and Jack (Peter Bergman) is the one who knows there is something that could get them all into a lot of trouble buried on the property—and he’s afraid Diane will stumble over it.

What if it’s something from Jack’s not exactly as pure as the driven snow past? Or Traci’s (Beth Maitland)? Or what if it’s connected to why Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) personality really splintered? (Remember mentally ill Ashley? Weren’t we going to try to get to the bottom of what originally caused her breakdown?)

Out of the Past

Then again, what Diane turns up could shock everybody. Will it cast a new light on John’s (Jerry Douglas) golden legacy? All we ask is: Please, please, please make it mean something.
